Orchidaceae is the largest family of plants in Bhutan. They are found from subtropical forests to the alpine meadows. This range of habitats together with the goegraphical position of Bhutan, accounts for the huge diversity of this family with no fewer than 132 genera and 570 species being confirmed from this area.
