During the author's studies for "The Alpine Flora of New Guinea" it became apparent that the genus Corybas required more extensive studies than allowed for in the studies of the Alpine Flora. As Dr J. Dransfield of Kew had already studied the species of the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java and Borneo, the author decided to study the species from the areas east of the Wallace Line. A total of 74 species are treated in detail with line drawings, descriptions and habitat details.
