Chapters cover topics relating to the structure of the pitcher plans, their ecology, how they catch prey, animals that live in pitcher plants and other interactions between them and animals. A large chapter describes the Nepenthes species of Sumatra; the natural hybrids are discussed; there is a chapter on conservation and another on cultivation. This is a very interesting book about a fascinating type of plant. Numerous colour photographs illustrate the various species; maps also show species distribution.
