Each orchid is listed with a small description, distribution details, details of relationships to other orchids, cultivation notes and an illustration.  This book has been treated as a valuable tool for the amateur botanist because it covers all known species and the description which is written so the amateur can easily understand, is generally sufficient enough to identify most orchids.
