The book presents, in a manner readily understood by the layperson, a list of species important to Hawaii's orchid industry, information on cross-breeding, seed propagation, flower colour and form and controlling diseases. The authors share valuable tips on counting chromosomes, germinating seeds, and cloning plants. Haruyuki Kamemoto initated the research program on dendrobiums at the University of Hawai'i in 1950. His research continued for nearly 5 decades. The other authors also have extensive experience in research work involving breeding of Dendrobium orchids in Hawaii. 175 colour photos.
